Fees Status Questionnaire

Edinburgh College is a publicly funded education institution. It has different levels of tuition fees for students whose status is ‘home’ or ‘international.’ Whether you pay a ‘home’ or ‘overseas’ fee depends on whether you meet certain criteria.

Please answer all the questions below carefully and enter the requested share code or upload your supporting documents in Part 6 so that we can calculate the level of fees (if any) you will need to pay for your course at Edinburgh College. Once your fee status has been assessed, we will email you the outcome.

All BRP cards expired on 31st December 2024, and the extension to their use ended on 1st June 2025. We no longer accept BRPs as a valid supporting document.

  • Biometric Residence Permit (BRP)
  • Asylum Registration Card (ARC) – a copy of front & back of ARC is required
  • If you have claimed asylum but do not have an ARC yet, please provide a copy of a letter/email from the UK Home Office confirming that you are in the process of claiming asylum in the UK
  • If your visa has already expired and you have applied to renew it, please provide evidence that you have applied to renew your visa (for example, a screenshot of the email from the UK Home Office showing your application to renew has been submitted “in time“)
  • If your UK immigration status relies on a family member’s refugee status, please provide a copy of your visa confirmation email or letter from the UK Home Office. This letter or email should clearly state your visa type.
  • If you or the person mentioned in part 4 have lived TEMPORARILY outside of the UK or the European Economic Area in the past 3 years (not including holidays), please attach evidence of the reason for the absence (e.g. employment contract / letter from employer confirming temporary employment / documents from college / university, etc).
